# LuxKSA public visual assets

Retrieved/generated and verified on **2026-09-07**. This manifest covers the 19 assets referenced by `src/content/public-visuals.ts`. The nine pre-existing homepage images are outside this sourcing pass; this document makes no new provenance claim for them.

Named-university entries are source photographs, not generated campus reconstructions. Crops, resizing and WebP encoding are the only visual modifications; no objects, institutional text, architecture, or skies have been synthesized. Natural source colour is preserved, including PNU's existing warm, rainy appearance. Crop tuples are **(left, top, width, height)** in source pixels. WebP quality is 86 with encoder effort 6 unless a row says otherwise. Every file is below 614,400 bytes.

Keep source credit, license links, and modification notices with reused photographs. The KFUPM, UQU and Madinah derivatives are distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0; the PNU derivatives under CC BY-SA 3.0. These licenses apply to the listed image derivatives. Link this publicly served manifest (`/images/luxksa/ATTRIBUTION.md`) from the consuming page's image credits so attribution remains accessible. No source author or institution endorses LuxKSA.

## Identity and source review

The published universities' official sources were inspected: [KSU](https://ksu.edu.sa/en), [KAU](https://kau.edu.sa/en), [KFUPM study](https://www.kfupm.edu.sa/study), [UQU about](https://uqu.edu.sa/en/main/AboutUs), [Islamic University](https://iu.edu.sa/en-us), and [PNU admissions](https://pnu.edu.sa/en/RegAdm/RegBSC/Pages/Internal.aspx). Their availability alone is not a reuse license. No image was copied from these sites under an assumed permission. Each selected source instead has an explicit license on its Commons file page, verified through the Commons imageinfo metadata API as well as the source page where accessible.

KSU's photographer/architect release has Wikimedia VRT permission ticket **2015110210006361**. KAU's source title and camera coordinates **21.488146, 39.239106** identify its internal road. KFUPM and Madinah file descriptions explicitly identify the depicted campus/gate. UQU's source title identifies the Wadi Makkah building at Al-Abidiyah; [UQU's own report](https://uqu.edu.sa/en/App/News/4740) also places Wadi Makkah activity at that campus. The chosen UQU photo is a building façade with physical signage, not an aerial or main entrance view. PNU is identified by the Commons category and object coordinates **24.844450, 46.723520**, with camera coordinates **24.845740, 46.723310**. The older PNU file is a road view; its generic original title “Mu pic” is not used as an alt-text description.

Rejected candidates: the newer [PNU entrance photograph](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Princess_Norah_University_WhatsApp_Image_2025-10-14_at_7.40.30_PM_(1).jpg) was in the **Deletion requests August 2026** category at retrieval and was not downloaded or used. The 600×338 UQU campus photograph was not chosen because its resolution is inadequate for the requested hero. PNU's selected 1130×1133 source remains the visual quality limitation: the hero is conventionally enlarged, and should be replaced if a sharper, explicitly licensed campus source becomes available. The generated fallback is used only for unknown slugs; no university uses another university's photograph.

Generation method: built-in OpenAI ImageGen, one call per asset. All generated masters were inspected before conversion. The service calls requested 2048×1365, but actual delivered masters were 1537×1023; the fallback delivered 1536×1024. The manifest records actual output dimensions, not requested generation sizes. Exact original output names below identify the local generation records; project-facing files are the WebP assets above.
